She is probably the most unlikely
mare to produce a fabulous foal by HU Sheikh Imaan but when our son, Sage, who
was 6-years-old at the time, asked if he could breed his rescued Chincoteague
mare to Sheikh, we agreed.
Since
Chincoteague's carry such a concentrated genetic line and there is absolutely
nothing "Arabian" about "CT," we did not expect to see any
notable Arabian features in the foal. When CT’s colt was born (on our son’s
sleeping bag), we were amazed to see that he looked like yet another one of Sheikh's
purebred foals verses a Half-Arabian.
Sheikh's
consistent ability to pass along his incredible temperament shows in the antics
of this adorable colt during our impromptu and brief photo shoot.
